Desisti Lighting

Desisti Lighting, is a world leader in lighting installations for film, TV and photography studios as well as theatres, stadiums and other large venues. The company is proud to promote not only the latest in lighting for HD studios, but also the entire range of hoists, rigging systems, fixtures and other Iighting accessories.

In brief, HD studios need less power, smaller light sources but more lighting points to create the depth of image," the perfect solution is CST (ceramic studio theatre) lamp; its light is similar to tungsten, with a colour temperature of 3200K. But it is cool, with just 15% infrared (heat) energy compared to over 70% infrared energy produced by tungsten lamps.so it is very comfortable for the people in the studio.

Cooler lamps also mean that lesser air conditioning is needed, thus saving energy. Further energy savings arise from the fact that CST lamps are four times brighter than tungsten lamps. A 250W CST lamp, for example, can replace a 1,000W tungsten lamp.

Beyond lighting, DeSisti highlights its latest "band technology" that employs flat steel strips, or bands, instead of steel wires, to hold and hoist lighting fixtures. The advantage is that the steel band, being thin and light yet strong, requires a less powerful motor to hoist. And as the steel band takes up less space, longer lengths can be accommodated to enable higher lifts.

This system allows lighting fixtures to be lifted to 20m or higher, in fact, using steel ropes, 10m is about the highest you can go.

LSI Projects

LSI Projects, based in the UK, are an international system integrator providing lighting, electrical and suspension solutions for TV studios and lighting and sound solutions for theatres, conference centres and concerts halls. The home of Showlight 2009 is a completed LSI project with some 5 TV studios designed, supplied and installed by LSI. Always at the fore front of technology, LSI is able to deliver the complete solution as the recently opened BT Convention Centre in Liverpool and the Hull Truck Theatre confirm.

With current on site projects such as the Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin, Royal Opera House in Oman, new TV studios for the BBC in London and Cambridge, 5 TV studios in Saudi Arabia and the National Convention Centre in Dublin, our expertise is in constant demand.

With the focus at Showlight on lighting, LSI are pleased to welcome delegates to BBC Pacific Quay, which features some of the most up to date and innovative TV lighting solutions in the world today, for high definition TV production. The solution uses primarily sine wave distributed ETC dimmers, streamed ACN for the lighting data network, ETC Congo and Congo Junior for the lighting controls, Desisti TV luminaires, Martin TW1 and Mac 700 motorised heads and a complete mechanical and electrical installation.
